Just a few years ago
(2001), I had never heard the words~~pine needle basketry. My introduction to this art began on our annual camping trip to
Eagle Lake,CA.wich sits at 5,000 ft. Serendipitously, my friend, Linda, brought along the book" Pine Needle Basketry" by Judy
Mallow. Linda and the book, along with the fact that I had an unlimited supply of raw materials at my fingertips, gave me
the desire to start my first basket. Now, I enjoy the dying, designing, embellishing, color coordinating and even the tedious
cleaning, sorting, freezing and grouping of needles. I'm now affiliated with: The Pine Needle Group, and The Bay Area Basket
Makers. This page begins with my first work, and proceeds on to the present. I hope you have as much fun viewing them as
I had creating them.
